Croatia – find your ‘pomalo’ on the Dalmatian Coast!

The Dalmatian Coast – the Mediterranean… as it used to be

In Croatia, there’s a word that captures the soul of the coast: pomalo.

It means “take it easy,” “slow down,” or simply “no rush.”

And that suits us because that’s what our Walk on the spectacular Dalmatian Coast is all about.

Rather than racing from sight to sight, we embrace the quieter corners, linger longer, and walk gently through those timeless landscapes.

From the sun-drenched Dalmatian islands to the olive-scented trails of the mainland, wandering medieval streets, dipping into hidden coves, or savoring seafood by the sea, every step is a chance to find our own pomalo!

Step off the beaten path and into a world where time slows, senses awaken, and every trail leads to discovery.

Experience Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast on foot. An unforgettable Walk taking in sunlit shores, ancient cities, and island rhythms.

There are no better seasons to explore this coastline than in spring or fall, when the Adriatic sun still warms the days and casts a golden glow over olive groves and stone villages.

An island-hopper’s paradise

The sea glimmers, inviting an impromptu swim; trails are blissfully quiet, and the air is perfumed with wild herbs. It’s more tranquil than the busy summers, but blissfully warm.

Island-hopping here is pure magic. On Lopud, we’ll wander pine-scented paths to secluded coves on an island untouched by cars and modern noise.

Hvar greets us with its lavender fields and sun-drenched piazzas, where Venetian charm meets island ease. And on Brač, rugged beauty takes center stage, from the dramatic cliffside Blaca Monastery to panoramic trails that rise above bays shimmering in the sunlight.

The mainland offers its own wonders, equally steeped in history and charm. Our adventure begins in Dubrovnik, the fabled Pearl of the Adriatic. Here we stroll beside ancient walls that crown terracotta rooftops and gaze over the glittering sea.

In Split, the living heart of Diocletian’s Palace pulses with life. Its Roman walls are still home to cafés, music, and laughter – after seventeen centuries! And in Ston, walk along the mighty medieval fortifications, This is the so-called “Great Wall of Europe” that once protected oyster beds and the salt pans still thriving today.

A celebration of the Mediterranean!

Imagine unwinding by the sea after a day on the trail with a glass of local wine and a plate of freshly grilled seafood, the scent of rosemary drifting through the air. The light softens, the sea shimmers, and conversation flows easily – a quiet celebration of the Mediterranean and of life itself.
