    Itinerary

    Day1Meet at El Calafate Airport

Upon arrival at El Calafate, you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. We will enjoy a welcome dinner in a local restaurant.
    El Calafate, Xelena Hotel

    Day 2

After a relaxing night’s sleep, we will be transferred from our hotel in El Calafate to our hotel in El Chaltén. This 3- hour trip will allow us to enjoy the desert of Southern Patagonia on the famous Route 40. We will pass through La Leona River, which connects Lake Argentino and Lake Viedma. By the river, we will see La Leona Roadhouse where once Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid after robbing a bank where hidden for almost a month. We will meet our mountain guide at the hotel and start our walk to Cerro Torre Viewpoint. Ascending through the lovely lenga forest we enjoy amazing views of the Fitzroy river canyon. Perhaps we will see a Magellan woodpecker on a tree or a condor searching for its next feed! After a few miles, we will reach the Cerro Torre Viewpoint. Once there, we will sit to contemplate and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Admire the whole Torre Valley and its various terminal moraines from different ice ages in the foreground. In the distance, you will see the granite towers of Torre Mount and all their satellite mountains. Afterward, we will head back along the same path to El Chaltén – this time looking towards the steppe and other mountains.
El Chaltén, Los Cerros del Chalten

    Day 3

Our full-day walk to Laguna de los Tres starts with a transfer to the trail head at Río Eléctrico Bridge, offering lovely views of the valley, the Río de Las Vueltas, and the constant presence of the impressive Cordón de Los Cóndores.
From there, we start the ascent, bordering the Río Blanco, and arrive at the viewpoint of the Piedras Blancas Glacier. Then we will continue along the path until the Poincenot area, which is the base of Cerro Fitz Roy. From this point we will start the last ascent of approximately 90 minutes, to reach the Laguna de los Tres, facing the central wall of Cerro Fitz Roy.
After enjoying this unforgettable place, we will begin the descent towards the town. During this path, we will enjoy different viewpoints, and we can visit the Laguna Capri. We will arrive directly in El Chaltén town to enjoy a well-earned beer.
El Chaltén, Los Cerros del Chalten

    Day 4

The historic Hosteria Helsingfors is a lodge tucked on the edge of Lake Viedma in Los Glaciares National Park. On arrival we will enjoy a Patagonian lunch before starting our first walk to the Wind Peninsula. A former cattle trail leads to Punta del Viento, the first viewpoint of the arm Moyano. It is an easy hike that offers wonderful views of the town and its grove of Sequoias. On the road lies the ruins of Alfred Ramstrom’s home, the first European settler of the area. We will witness the vastness of Lake Viedma with its stunning azure waters.
Los Glaciares National Park, Lodge Helsingfors

    Day 5

Today we will enjoy a walk or a horseback ride to the Blue Lagoon. We set out on an old grass trail that begins at the Lodge. The path enters the River Alfredo valley (the same river that provides energy to the lodge), gradually ascending the sides of the Huemul Hill With the soft music from the river as company. After a forty-minute walk, we pause to appreciate the magnitude of Mount Fitz Roy emerging from the other side of Viedma Lake. The path continues to enter deeper into the valley and becomes narrower, surrounded by the Cordón Huemul and its peaks that reach 2700 meters in height; the Blue Lagoon glacier can already be seen on the horizon. The footpath then leads into a forest of lengas and Antarctic beech.
Curious guanacos and condors will likely take an interest in our progress!
After spotting a spectacular waterfall, our journey continues to where the river rises. We’re now at the same level of the perpetual snow that lies on the surrounding mountains. Then, the bright blue of the Lagoon, invites reflection in absolute silence, which is only interrupted by the sounds of the usual avalanches that take place from the summits falling to the glacier.
Los Glaciares National Park, Lodge Helsingfors

    Day 6

After lunch in El Calafate we will continue our trip towards our next hotel, Pristine Camps on Estancia Dos Lagos between Lake Roca and Brazo Rico.
From here we will be able to enjoy permanent views of the Perito Moreno Glacier and discover the history of the pioneers through the experiences offered at this luxury camp, focusing on the four elements of nature: water, earth, air, and fire.
This afternoon we will enjoy a wine tasting, exploring a selection of premium wines produced in Argentina as well as the Patagonia region. Guided by an expert sommelier, we’ll explore different grape varieties and flavors while learning about the history and production process of wine in Argentina.
    El Calafate, Pristine Camps

    Day 7

This morning we explore the property, starting from the Central Dome, a journey by van takes us along the communal road for about 5km until reaching the old Yellow Post. We begin the trek to the lagoon while tour guide tells us the history of the Peninsula and its inhabitants, as well as identifying the native flora found along the way. Upon reaching the lagoon, they will transfer back by vehicle to the Perito Moreno Glacier viewpoint where they can see its southern face and then begin the return to the Camp
After lunch, we will take a transfer to Los Glaciares National Park, home of the magnificent Perito Moreno Glacier. A UNESCO World Heritage site since 1981 and home to one of the most awe-inspiring landscapes in Argentina, Perito Moreno Glacier is a sight to behold.
We take the walkways from where we will be able to pass in front of the colossal ice wall, and, if we are lucky, perhaps see some ice “calving”.
Afterward, we will sail in front of the southern face of the Perito Moreno Glacier while enjoying aperitifs. Upon completion, we return to Pristine by land.
    El Calafate, Pristine Camps

    Day 8

After breakfast in the morning, we enjoy the activities that the Camp has to offer.
We will begin our day with a hike to the most remote corners of the estate, tracing the history of Patagonia on our way to one of the 360° panoramic viewpoints located at the highest points.
In the afternoon, we will go horseback riding, accompanied and guided by the award-winning rider Eric Schroeder, responsible for showing us the local flora and fauna. We will explore Lake Roca and a significant part of the beautiful Dos Lagos field.
After the activity, we will return to the camp. Our farewell dinner will be served at the Pristine Domo Restaurant.
