Mallorca is an island you may know by name, but perhaps never thought of as a walking destination. The largest of Spain’s Balearic Islands, set in the western Mediterranean off the coast of mainland Spain, Mallorca is best-known internationally for its beaches and seaside resorts. But Mallorca has another, far more unexpected side: a spectacular interior of rugged limestone mountains, ancient olive groves, fragrant citrus valleys and traditional stone villages, framed by dramatic Mediterranean coastlines. If you’re drawn to quiet, rugged landscapes and relish variety – mountain trails one day, coastal panoramas the next – trust us: Mallorca is a revelation!
Expect big views, bright flavors and Mallorca beyond the crowds.
Unforgettable walking amid spectacular landscapes, experiencing authentic island life.
From the UNESCO-listed Serra de Tramuntana to the turquoise waters of the northern and southern coasts, we’ll walk beneath pine and holm-oak canopies, follow ancient stone paths and discover landscapes shaped by generations of olive and citrus growers.
Our trails take us from the charming mountain village of Valldemossa into the wooded hills and along the dramatic Trail of the Echoes, before heading to the citrus-scented Sóller Valley.
We’ll walk through timeless hamlets and into beautiful Fornalutx, explore the mountain sanctuary of Lluc and its extraordinary limestone landscape, and discover the historic town of Pollensa.
Then it’s time for the coast. Follow pine-fringed trails above the brilliant blue waters of Alcúdia, take in the spectacular panoramas of Cap Formentor and walk beneath the historic Cap Blanc lighthouse towards tranquil Cala Pi.
Along the way, there are views across the Mediterranean to Menorca and, perhaps, the protected island wilderness of Cabrera.
And, of course, there’s plenty to tempt the taste buds.
Visit a local winery for a tasting accompanied by Mallorcan specialties, enjoy fresh orange juice among the citrus groves, sample the island’s renowned olive oil and sobrassada, and discover the traditional harvesting of flor de sal at the protected Es Trenc salt flats – with a salt tasting session!
